The American Opossum has light fur, ranging from light sand to pure white, and is very shiny. The guard hairs has dark tips. This makes good dubbing for many types of flies. It is very popular for Danish saltwater shrimp patterns, due to its translucency. Is also popular for salmon flies, when cut in slim zonker strips.
