Marco was Born in the Netherlands but has lived in Germany for about 30 Years now.

Marco started fishing with a flyrod by the age of 18.

First experience with a flyrod was on a holiday in the UK, fishing for trout in a chalkstream in Cornwall. It must have been good, as after that it has been more than 30 years now with Fly Only!!

Today he lives about 5 km from the Dutch border, so he fish a lot in both the Netherlands and Germany.

In the beginning it was mostly fishing with dry fly and nymphs for Roach, Bream and other Fish. But that changed really fast after trying out flyfishing for predators like pike, which he now does a lot in the Netherlands and Germany.

Marco also loves fishing for perch and asp, with many really nice specimens attached to his flies over the years.

After a few years he met some people who went to Sweden fishing for Seatrout in The Baltic Sea……hooked again !!

So since 2010 he has been on an annual 2 week trip to Sweden and several Weekends in Danmark in search of “Silver”.

In short you could say that Marco is a seatrout fisherman when visiting Sweden and Denmark, and a predator fisherman back home…in Germany and the Netherlands.

But his dream is to catch a Tarpon in some holiday .(When his wife lets him…. )

Besides beeing a very skilful fisherman Marco is also an innovative flytier, tying many cool patterns for the seatrout and predators…

Put all this together and you will not be surpriced that Marco also teaches flytying and flyfishing in his local fishing club.
